Layered Stamping on Craft

Hi All,
This week I wanted to make a card based on the Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink.  I love the stamp set Sweet Life, the roses come out amazing!!! For the sentiment I used Boutique Borders: Sympathy stamp set.

PTI Pearlized Blending

Hi Everyone,
I finally got around to making the Make it Monday Pearlized blending card! Better late than never.
I used a heart mask, stamped the swirly image in Versamark and then embossed in clear.  For the ink blending colors I used Distress inks spun sugar, picked raspberry and fired brick. Then I followed the tutorial and covered image with Versamark ink, removed the mask and covered with perfect pearls.  Then buffed it off.
To finish, I cut about half and inch of the right side of the card off and made the heart stick out.  I finished it off with the Wet paint sentiment set.  I die cut the happy and then stamped and embossed it with gold and did the same think with "anniversary".

PTI Focal Clusters

Hi Everyone!
It's been so long since I have written a post. But, hopefully I will get back into the swing of things and update you with some things I have been making lately.  Today I wanted to share a card I made for the Paper Trey Ink Monday Challenge.  I like their weekly challenges as it is fun to use stamps and dies in ways I might not have thought of before.  This week it was about making focal clusters.

Here is the card I made using the Petite places Sweet Shoppe and the Keep it Simple Anniversary stamp sets.

I put the sweet shoppe and bike on some thin craft foam just to give it some dimension.  For the trees I used a leaf die cut from American Crafts Maggie Holmes Confetti collection.  Then I used some sparkly black embossing powder for the sentiment.

Here is a side view. Isn't that pink, striped awing so cute? I love it!

Thanks for joining it!

Stamp A Faire 2015

So, today I was able to make a couple of cards for the Project Runway Stamp A Faire 2015 at Papertrey Ink.

Here is the first card for the Bridal Challenge...

I used a die plate and covered it with gold and clear sparkle embossing powder.  Then I gold embossed the sentiment from the Just a Kiss stamp set on vellum and cut out a banner shape.  Simple card but I think its pretty.

The second card is for the Pattern Challenge. I used pattern 3.  I used the Beautiful Brushstrokes stamp set for the flowers and the Think Big Favorites #16 stamp set for the sentiment.

Wink of Stella on top of the flowers!!!

A fall themed "Thinking of You"

Today's card was inspired by Papertrey Ink and all their new fall themed goodies this month.  For this card I die cut a leaf from some paper that I watercolored with some yellows, reds and oranges and then topped with some sparkles. I mounted the whole card on a patterned paper from the new Project Stamp-A-Faire kit, Mood Mix. The sentiment is embossed in gold and is from the Mini Blooms set.  I added some black hand "stitching" and some sequins to complete the card.

Embellished Notepads

Good Morning!  I'm sharing an idea inspired by Papertrey Inc. Monday challenge.  In the challenge, Melissa made mini notebooks.  I wanted to make something for the challenge, but I also wanted it to be something I would use.  SO...I decided to embellish some note pads that I have and use.  You probably have several of these lying around your house and you can also make them prettier and more fun to use as I did.

So here are the two notepads that I decided to embellish.

Then I just added some scrap paper that I had to the top front section.

Then I die cut some "flowers" from the button dies from Papertrey Inc and some leaves and hot glued them on the top.  And I used some stickles in the middle of the flowers.  I stamped a sentiment at the bottom as well as some flowers and leaves and Voila! The notepads were complete!

Beautiful Brush strokes thank you

I was inspired by the Monday challenge at Papertrey Inc to make this card.  I used the "texture kissing" technique for the flower and for the leaves I stamped the leaves in a lighter green and then I stamped the dotted stamp with a darker green.  Then I stamped the lighter leaves on the darker dots and then stamped it on the paper. I like the effect that both of these techniques created.

I used a die to cut out the opening for the sentiment, and stamped it in gold.  I put some Wink of Stella shimmer on the flower.  Placed the leaves and flower on some foam adhesive, then put some sequins on to complete the card.

Taking time to sleep & play

This layout is made from some older papers I had from Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection.  I love the colors and paper in this collection.  Especially the little birds on the Oh Darling paper.  I wanted to cut some out to use on the layout but I didn't want to cut each one by hand. So, I bought the Pix Scan matt for my Silhouette Cameo and cut them out!

I used my sewing machine on the strips on the side.  I used some green silk ribbon in my bobbin, some pink variegated thread with a flowered decorative stitch, and then some variegated green thread for some straight stitching.  Hopefully you will be able to see it in the close-ups.

The picture is mounted on a cut file from iheartstudio, the birds were added.   I used some pink gelatos to color the right side. Then, some rubber stamping, journaling and ink splotches to complete everything.

A close-up of the stitching. You can see the silk green ribbon and the variegated pink flowers.

A close-up of the right side with the gelatos and stamping.

Classy

For this layout I used another technique from the Craftsy class by Paige Evans on Patterned paper. I added some journaling, embellishments, a caption from Studio Calico and some white paint splotches  to complete the layout.

Sending Hedgehogs

This card was made from the Lawn Fawn stamp and dies Hedgehogs.  I stamped the hedgehogs in Archival Ink, then colored them with Tim Holtz distress ink markers.

For the background I cut out a circle from masking paper and then used distress inks to blend the background. Then I removed the mask and die cut another scalloped circle to go over the background. The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum, and the heart was covered with glossy accents to add a pretty sheen.  To assemble the card, the hedgehogs were mounted with foam tape,

Welcome Little One

For this card I made a watercolored background from gelatos.  Then I added some Sparkly paint splotches (the sparkle is hard to photograph, but it sparkles in real life with gold flecks).  Then I colored the stamped image using distress ink markers, die cut the images out and the placed them on the card using foam tape to add dimension. I'm entering this card in the Avery Elle Challenge for July.

To complete the card I added the sentiment. I was heat embossed on vellum. The stamped images are from Avery Elle Storybook collection.

Stars

Here is another layout based on the Craftsy class by Paige Evans for Patterned Paper.  I wove the paper and then die cut the stars.  I then placed them on top of an embossed background of stars using a stencil.

Then I added a picture and embellishment cluster around each photo.

Hi Everyone! A quick post because I wanted to play along with the Monday Challenge at PaperTrey Ink...

I colored the Luxe Background plate with my Copic Markers R22,24,89.  Then I used distress inks to color the background.

Thanks for taking a look!

Gram and I

For this layout I was inspired by this one by Paige Evans. I loved the flower die by Maggie Holmes and I knew I had to have it!  I used 6X6 patterned papers by American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neopolitan collection (an old but goodie) for the die cut flowers.  I mounted them on some beautiful paper by Studio Calico that is black with gold flecks in it.  In the center of each flower is an enamel dot.  Around the photo I used some embellishments from Maggie Holmes Confetti collection.

Hello April

This layout is from a class on Craftsy taught by Paige Evans called Patterned Paper Play.  I used 2 heart sizes for this layout.  The smaller heart was a punch and the larger heart is a die from Sizzix loves story.

In this close up you can see that some embellishments were added that match the area of the hearts.  Some journaling was also added below the photo.

Thanks for joining me

Third times a charm

I have been making LO (layouts) from a class I'm taking given by Wilna Furstenberg on Craftsy. This is a great class and so inspiring! I made two other LO from the original layout in class, using the stencil and the rest of the pieces so here is LO #3.  At the end, I will show all three layouts.

For this LO, I used the words cut out from the stencil and watercolored them.  To make them stand out more I placed them on some patterned paper by Studio Calico.  On the white background paper I used some spray mist and splatters by Heidi Swapp called blush. Then I used some picture frames on top inspired from this blog post by Wilna. Then I added some embellishments to finish.

Here are some close-ups

To watercolor the words I used my Gansai Tambi set and then put a nice white sparkle on top also from the set.  These are such beautiful and easy watercolors to use.  I love them and they are worth the investment... At least I think so, hee hee! :)

Here are all three layouts.  This shows how much fun and how different your layouts can be from a single starting point.  I love that! It just makes thing so easy and I think the results are lovely!

Thanks for stopping by!

Patient Again

So, I posted a LO (layout) I had made from a stencil and embossing paste.  This was from a Craftsy class taught by Wilna Furstenberg.  Well, I made two more layouts from that same stencil but in different ways. This post will be about LO number 2....

But before I tell you about the second LO, here is a picture of LO #1

If you want to know how to make this LO, check out the Craftsy class

NOW.... Here is LO #2

For this layout, I used the stencil with the embossing paste on top of it and glued patterned paper behind it.  Then I added my photo and some embellishments!

Here are some close-ups! In these you can really see all the texture and interest that the embossing paste on top of the stencil creates!
