Here is a picture of the card I make in the video...

Fun with paper strips

Here is a layout very much inspired by this one. I used the Simon Says Stamp February card kit on this layout as well as some print and cut files from iheart studio.

Full of life

This is part of the Color Theory class that I'm taking at Studio Calico.  This is made using complementary colors of the color wheel (red and green).  I love the hashtag cut files from Wilna's shop, I think they fit this layout well.

To start the layout I painted some green paint streaks on a scrap piece of paper. Then I placed them under the photo and added some embellishments. The cut files were added and finally some ink splatters and journaling to complete the page.

A friends wedding

This is another layout using the February Studio Calico scrapbook kit.  I used two patterned papers and then used some gesso across both of them.  Added some gold and black splatters, some stickers from Basic Grey Kissing Booth and a cut file from I Heart Studio and viola! Done!

Yellow and sunny

This cheerful layout is based on the Color Theory class that I am taking through Studio Calico, taught by my favorite Wilna Furstenberg.  I originally started this layout before theclass started.  I was going to use the bright yellow and white flowered patterned paper from my Studio Calico scrapbook kit on the bottom.  But I just couldn't make it stand out well enough.  So, I tried plan B and used a cut file and an embellishment cluster like Wilna and I love it!!!

This photo was taken after my husband and I set up for our son and daughter in laws wedding.  We were taking a little break and my dad took this picture.  I love the naturalness of the picture and how well it captures a moment in time.

Kaui Lighthouse

This layout is from the February Studio Calico scrapbook kit.  I loved the sheet with gold lettered saying and the papers in this kit.  Since, I love to sew I used one of the patterns on my sewing machine and some variegated thread to sew on top of the far right spotted paper.  I love the texture that this creates, and its fun to be able to use the more decorative stitches on my sewing machine!

I added some paint spots and journaling to complete this simple layout.
Here you can see the sticking and some of the embellishments closer.

Quilt Guild show

Every year my mother and I try to go to a quilt show in Folsom, California.  Its a smaller quilt show, but local and a fun traditional that I look forward to every year. This layout was inspired from Wilna Furstenberg and her use of ribbon.  It also uses the  Studio Calico scrapbook paper, letter andsome ink spots.  And the cut files from I Heart Studio complete the layout!

To make the light pink letters stand out more, I used a fine black pen to trace around them.

A nautical baby boy card

Sometimes a piece of paper will just inspire me to make a certain type of card.  Well, this paper from my Studio Calico scrapbook kit, was just screaming "baby boy card" to me.  So, that's exactly what I made!
