Here is a quilt I made with a panel called Working the West by Debbie Beaves. Then I made some modified stars with a jelly roll of coordinating fabric.
Heres some pictures of the steps used making the stars
Marking lines down the center of each square.
Stacking the fabrics to start chain stitching the together.
The chain of all the squares sewn together
Trimmed square
Opened up and pressed squares
Then sew on another square to complete the star points
Back of each star before its all sewn together.
The squares all set up to be sewn together.
Lining up the squares to do more chain stitching.
Laying out the stars around the center panel.
Adding more borders.
Added the final border using up the jelly roll.
The finished quilt on the bed with the pillowcases to match!!!

I have this fabric and was puzzled after I purchased it on how to design the quilt. I love what you did! You've inspired me. Absolutely love the star blocks. They compliment the cowboy theme perfectly. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Maggie Short, I wasn't sure what to do with the fabric initially but I went to the manufactures website and they had a quilt with the fabric pieced in the center. SO, thats where I started with the quilt. Thanks for stopping by
